Web 2.0: Search by Another Name

The first workshop I attended this morning was the Search by Another Name, with John Battelle (FM Publishing), Paul Forster (Indeed), Rahul Lahiri (Ask Jeeves), Michael Tanne (Wink) and Bob Wyman (Pubsub). Overall, I liked it quite a lot, despite the fact that big part of it was pitching individual company capabilities and not talking about search itself.

Still, it was good to hear about the techniques Ask is using to deliver community-centered search results and their Web Answers, as well as how Wink is going to take a new approach to search by using folksonomies.
