Boicot a Techcrunch...

As everybody, I'm not a big fan of the new redesign.
But we all know Techcrunch is all about content, and Mike does that perfectly. Plus, he's kind enough to provide full feeds for people who prefer their RSS reader of choice.
Fred, you did an amazing job with the previous design !
Let's hope they keep it for the Mobilecrunch site !

As everybody .. don't really like the new one ...
Won't talk about colors & tastes, but talk about ergonomics apsects :
Goal is readability ?
Why such a large place for sponsors and ads ?
Why a fixed-width layout ?
The hot search cloud ... I don't think it's instantly readable with no colors on a dark green background.
Even the top menu, flashing in white, with a light green font isn't so readable ...

Well, with this new design, I see everything but the content ... :(

But I've found a way to read it easyly :)
Just disable all CSS styles (eg: with a firefox extension) and enjoy :) All ads on the bottom of the page :D Just enjoy the content !

(sorry for my english, am french)

Glad you could make use of the tips in the article. A more in-depth post about what's really wrong about the new layout will be up by later tonight or tomorrow.

I have to agree with everyone else the old TechCrunch was better... anyway some excellent tips you've suggested as well. I've already implemented some of them into one of my sites.

I truly enjoyed the old TechCrunch website design. It will be missed by my eyes! It was beautiful, clean, simple, functional...like so much you do.

Keep up the great work!

Missing the Old TechCrunch...

This is obviously a matter of taste, but I preferred the old TechCrunch look, Frederico Oliveira's design: cleaner, easier on the eye. I find the new, greener pastures a bit harsh, too vibrant. Apparently so do the overwhelming...
